Father Will writes:

Dear Friends,
We continue to be in very strange times.  We are striving to achieve 'business as usual' through streaming services, virtual meetings, and remote pastoral care.  I do hope you are able to join us for our online services and view our weekly thoughts and reflections.  We are streaming a Eucharist every Sunday at 11am, and Wednesday at 10am from St Saviour's in Dartmouth where the wi-fi is most reliable, but we plan to experiment with other locations (4G permitting).  Please do keep in touch via our Facebook page and News section of our website.
Each Sunday after the 11am Eucharist we have introduced a 'virtual coffee morning' slot at 11.45am to check up on each other's welfare and to raise any questions.  This is accessible via a landline conference call, please contact Father Andrew by email or telephone (018023 834430) if you would like to join.  There is a link on the right of this page for some of the questions which have been asked so far.
This is a disconcerting time for me and the rest of team Hazlewood as we prepare to move to the Diocese of Chichester, unsure where we will live or where the children will go to school.  The date of my consecration is likely to be in July, but due to the continuing COVID-19 restrictions will take place in Lambeth Palace Chapel with the Archbishop, two other Bishops and my immediate family.  This is sooner than I had wished, as it marks the moment when I cease to be your vicar and become the Bishop of Lewes.  We will of course still be living here until later in the summer and I will be available at the end of the phone, but this date marks the beginning of my new position and I must be prepared to take on an increasing virtual role in Chichester and the practical preparations for the move.  I realise that these timings are far from ideal as will will not be able to say a proper goodbye to you all in the current situation.  Therefore, you won't have got rid of us completely and we will come back for a proper farewell, when we are all able to worship together once again.
The churchwardens of the benefice have begun work on arrangements for the interregnum and the process for seeking a new priest.  They are meeting weekly ('Zoom' is our friend!) and a small group has been tasked with drawing up the 'Parish Profile' and 'Person Specification' needed before any advertisement can be placed.  They will be seeking input from the parishes and wider community.
In the meantime, you all remain much in my prayers, and thank you so much for all the assurances of your prayers for us.

Father Will Hazlewood

Prayers for Peace is continuing via email at 11.30am each Friday; if you would like to join in, please email David Gent

A Christian presence at the heart of our community

A very warm welcome to the Parish of Dartmouth in the beautiful South Devon town of Dartmouth. Our mission is to be a growing, joy-filled, Christian presence at the heart of our community. We welcome both locals and visitors of all ages to our services.

Through our three church buildings, St Clement's, St Saviour's and St Petrox, we endeavour to walk the journey of faith together, fed and nurtured by God's word and sacraments.  Worship is our first duty, and we try, and hopefully make the worship here, both reverent and accessible.

The outward sign of the Church here is the three Grade One listed buildings that we are fortunate to have for our worship:

St Clement’s is the Mother Church at the top of the town, click here for more

St Petrox
Church, at the mouth of the river, is open daily during the summer, click here for more

St Saviour’s
Church in the heart of Dartmouth is open daily all year round,  click here for more

St George’s, Dittisham

We are unable to offer any public worship due to the
Coronavirus pandemic.  All church buildings are closed for the time being.
