Young People
We take our
ministry to our younger people seriously; they are the
church of today and the hope of tomorrow.
Our growing ministry to young people is a high priority
for
us:
-
For them to
understand and feel how much God loves them
-
That
through the Church, Jesus walks with them from birth,
throughout their lives, through death and beyond.
-
To help
them come to an informed decision about matters of
faith.
'Wake up on
Sunday' is an informal, relaxed family get-together on the
first Sunday of the month where children can enjoy
interacting with Bible stories and parents can socialise.
Our weekly act of worship – the Eucharist has more of a
focus on children and families on the first Sunday of the
month where our children take a greater part in the service
reading and helping. Of course, everyone is welcome at any
service on any Sunday – we provide ’s resources in church
for children. We are incredibly excited that the number of
families coming along to this service is growing and
engaging with their church – your church.
On the 3rd Sunday of the month at St Clement's a
Sunday School / Junior Church meets as part of the
11am Eucharist for age-related liturgy and then joins
the
rest of the congregation to gather around the altar
as the whole people of God.
A number of our
young people have recently been confirmed by Bishop Robert
and we will be offering classes to others as and when they
are ready.
'Family Fest
South West' is a camping weekend for families, held at the
River Dart Country Park supported by the benefice with
growing numbers of families enjoying the worship and
fellowship of a fun-filled weekend.
Throughout the year we also offer a number of fun filled
events aimed at our younger congregation,
these have included:
Candlelit Lantern Procession
Christmas Crib Services
Epiphany
Pancake party
Good Friday Children’s Workshop
Easter Day
Parish Barbeque
